Jackie Chan's Death in Venice opens as a mild-mannered computer expert (Jackie Chan!) is flying into the lovely Italian city for a conference on communications technology. Little does Jackie Chan know it, but a group of renegade Russian Mafia members has infiltrated the conference and plans to kidnap key experts, whom they will force to help them disrupt worldwide communications. At the conference, Jackie Chan meets a plucky Russian former gymnast who was expelled from the nation's Olympic program when she refused to take performance-enhancing steroids. Now, she's a top satellite engineer, and -- little does Jackie Chan know it -- but she's first on renegade Russian Mafia members' list of targets! In a dramatic boat chase and rescue in the Grand Canal, Jackie manages to foil the attempt using the martial arts he studied as a boy. Jackie Chan and the plucky former Russian Olympic gymnast band together to unearth the renegade Russian Mafia members' secret plans. Culminating in a dramatic boat chase through Venice, Jackie Chan and his plucky love interest pursue and are pursued by the renegade Russian Mafia's cutthroat agents. It's mayhem and martial artistry from the Grand Canal to the Clocktowers as Jackie Chan and his limber love interest uncover the surprising secret behind the renegade Russian Mafia members' agenda, and single-handedly overcome impossible odds to save the day as the seconds tick down to global disaster! |
